The wedding guests (and later, netizens) had a good laugh after a cute bride made her wedding vows in Visayan (Bisaya) and asking some candid questions to the judge officiating their union.

At weddings, it is tradition for the couple to exchange their vows. While many couples choose to have English as the language used for their wedding, including their vows, that could also be done in their native language.

But if you see a wedding with a foreigner and a local in the Philippines, it’s likely going to be in English. After all, most foreigners don’t understand the local languages unless they already studied these back in their homeland or they’ve been in the Philippines for some time.

In Tagbilaran, Bohol, however, a cute bride went viral for making her vows in Visayan – and everyone had a good laugh about it, including her amused groom.

The bride Contessa Labana, a Cebuana, and her groom Marcus Keulen got married in a fancy beach wedding at a private resort in Dauis, Bohol, last August 16, 2022.

While exchanging their vows, the bride had a difficult time saying her part of the vow in English.

Amazingly, her groom was the one who encouraged her to say the vow in Bisaya, and she happily did so. As she spoke her vows, her groom happily watched.

It’s unknown whether he could actually understand the language, but it’s clear that he knows what she’s talking about, anyway.

There’s so much love, pride, and happiness at this moment that netizens couldn’t help but smile at this cute bride and her supportive groom.

In the video shared by wedding planner Carlo Abaquita and photographer Reymund Mejica Requina of Idolwanderer Photography, it’s easy to see that these two are so in love with each other.
