- Kantrabaho grand finalist Erika Cedilla started her singing journey at an early age
- She joined numerous contests and performed in so many gigs and events
- But in order to survive the pandemic, she had no choice but to set aside her passion and take an entirely different route as a delivery rider
Even in her early years, Kantrabaho grand finalist Erika Cedilla already knew what her passion is: to capture h
earts with her singing voice while making music that touches souls.
But as she continued her journey as an independent singer, l
ife happened. The nationwide lockdown began. The longer nights went on. She woke up one day realizing that everything is no longer the same as it was before.
‘Yong gigs and events, nawala at na-cancel dahil sa pandemic,” she shared in an interview with Definitely Filipino.
In order to survive the pandemic, she had no choice but to set aside her passion, taking an entirely different route as a delivery rider.
‘The Singer Who Delivers’
She went on with her li
fe as a delivery rider. During her free time, she goes back to her first love; singing her h eart out, covering songs, even entertaining a lot of people online by performing a duet all by herself.
She accepted the fact that this is not the right time to continue pursuing her dream. After all, the most important thing right now is to stay al
ive till the virus is gone.
Until one day, doors started opening again.
ives through singing. May nagbukas din na pintuan ng opportunity para sa akin, nakasali ako sa Kantrabaho segment ng Lunch Out Loud sa TV5,” she shared.
In the aforementioned television contest, Erika, fondly known on television as “The Singer Who Delivers”, became the first monthly finalist and she is now preparing for the final round of the competition.
And just like many times before, her passion saved her once more.
Ito iyong way ko to continue moving forward in life,” the singer expressed.
