For Meteor Garden fans Meteorites, the F4 fever is still on. But this time, the group has served another meaningful purpose, supporting not only their idols but also their fellow Filipinos.
Just in time for the 10th anniversary of their Facebook page Meteor Garden PH-Official, the Meteorites were able to collect thousands of pesos and choose the Philippine Red Cross and the Kaya Natin! Movement for Good Governance and Ethical Leadership as beneficiaries.
“It feels good to initiate this kind of activity. We have already transferred half of it to the Philippine Red Cross, while the other half will be transferred within this week to Kaya Natin! Movement for Good Governance and Ethical Leadership,” page owner and head admin Chin D. Villanueva said in an interview.
Meteor Garden is based on the Japanese manga series, Boys Over Flowers; which tells the story of Shan Chai, a teenage girl from a poor family who goes to a school for rich people at her parents’ insistence. There, she met four handsome but arrogant male students collectively known as F4. Dao Ming Si, F4’s leader, eventually fell in love with her. The iconic and well-loved Taiwanese drama has been internationally famous in the early 2000s.
In 2013, it was aired in the Philippines again. This was when Villanueva more Filipino Meteor Garden fans. As of posting, she nearly has a hundred thousand followers.
