- Google has recently rolled out an additional feature to Google Lens that will allow users to copy and paste handwritten notes to their phones or PC
- This new feature works best if your handwriting is neat or clean enough
- To try this for yourself, you will need to download the latest version of Google Lens app or Google app
Have you ever wondered if it’s possible to transfer your handwritten notes to your phone or personal computer without having to type it all together? If so, we urge you to stop wondering now and start seeing it for yourself!
Thanks to Google’s additional feature to Google Lens (its multipurpose object recognition tool), users can now copy and paste handwritten notes from their phone to their computers. The requirement? Just download the latest version of Google Chrome and Google Lens app if you are using an Android device, or the latest Google app if you are using an iOS device. From there, you can access Lens through a button next to the search bar.
However, you need to make sure that you are logged in to the same Google account on both devices so that this feature can properly work. Once you’re done with these easy steps, you just need to open the Lens app, point your camera at any handwritten text, highlight it on-screen, and select copy.
After that, you are free to choose wherever you want to paste the copied text — be it in Google Docs, to your memos on PC, or just for a simple Google search. Easy, right?
However, take note that this feature works best if you have a neat or clean handwriting.
“In our tests, the feature was pretty hit or miss. If you don’t write neatly, you’ll definitely get some typos. But it’s still a cool feature that’s especially useful at a time when a lot of people are now working from home and relying on endless to-do lists to bring some sense of order to their day,” says a report from The Verge.
So if you want to try this feature for yourself, we suggest that you write legibly and properly scan your notes by following the above-mentioned steps. We’ll be glad to know if this feature worked for you too!
