In a statement, Airbnb, one of the world’s largest online marketplaces for arranging or offering lodging, announced that it has partnered with its hosts to help 100,000 healthcare staff and first responders.

“We’ve partnered with hosts to connect 100,000 healthcare staff and first responders with frontline stays so they can be close to their patients and safely distanced from their own families. When you book a frontline stay, Airbnb will waive all our fees up to the first 100,000 responders invited to book,” it stated.

The free accommodation, Airbnb assured, requires only a few easy steps.

“We’ll ask few questions about your work and the type of accommodations you need. You’ll need to log in to your Airbnb account to do this. Once you’re done, we’ll verify your info. Lastly, we’ll invite you to book a stay on Airbnb when and if accommodations become available based on your info,” it noted.

COVID-19 hotlines

Amid the threat of the dreaded disease in the Philippines, the DOH launched the DOH COVID-19 emergency hotlines 02-894-COVID (02-894-26843) and 1555 in partnership with the National Emergency Hotline of the Department of Interior and Local Government, and PLDT and its wireless subsidiary Smart Communications Inc.

Through the hotlines, callers can ask questions if they suspect they are infected with COVID-19, or request assistance if they have symptoms and/or known exposure to confirmed cases or patients under investigation.

The information collected from emergency calls is transmitted to the COVID-19 Emergency Operations Center and other relevant agencies for immediate facilitation and response.
