Mascariñas, who is an alumnus of UPLB, said 60 packs of chicken will be distributed to the 10 dorms operating inside the campus; and will serve as the dormers’ lunch and dinner meals. This will be made possible as the stores nearby continue to operate and will be the ones to provide and deliver the food to the headmasters of each residence hall.

“The university is immensely close to my heart, an institution whom I owe everything,” said Mascariñas. “This is Chooks’ way of supporting our Iskolar ng Bayan—the future heroes of food security and agriculture for our nation.”

To note, there are still around 400 students who cannot leave the campus as the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon continues.

Mascariñas said he is hoping that once they leave the confines of UPLB, the students will not forget to pay it forward not just to future generations of Iskos and Iskas but to the entire country.

“My hope is that we inspire these students to walk the talk when they are out of the university. Hindi man nagsasalita ang mahihirap nating mga kababayan, umaasa silang maalaala ninyo sila at bitbitin o i-angkas man lamang sa inyong pag-asenso balang araw. Mabuhay ang ating mga Iskolar ng Bayan sa UPLB!” the Chooks-to-Go president expressed.
