“You inspired so many kids,” these were the words of basketball star Kiefer Ravena to his idol, the late basketball legend Kobe Bryant.
On Instagram, Kiefer honored the memory of Kobe by uploading throwback photos: a picture of Kobe carrying him when he was still a child and an image that captured the moment he met him again as an adult. He said Kobe inspired so many kids, including him.
“The world lost a great one. You inspired so many kids to appreciate and love the game in ways you couldn’t imagine. You gave me inspiration on how to believe in the work you put in, not to stop, and always try to find an edge. You were a real one, Mamba. #LegendsLiveForever #MambaOut #mambacita REST IN POWER,” he expressed in the caption of the photos he uploade.
On January 26, the news about Kobe’s demise broke thousands of hearts around the world. The legendary athlete, together with his 13-year-old daughter Gianna, was among nine people who perished in a helicopter crash; leaving behind his wife and three other children, including a baby who was just born last June 2019.
In the comments section of Kiefer’s posts, a lot of fans expressed sadness, offered prayers, and wrote touching messages for the international basketball superstar.
As of posting, the photos shared by the Pinoy athlete has received more than 60,000 favorites.
