Childhood artworks are definitely priceless as it reflects innocence and reminds us of so much about the happy memories of our good old days — but a Russian man recently made headlines for selling the painting that he created when he was only six years old.

On the Russian classifieds site Avito, 41-year-old Vladimir Mkrtchyan placed an ad for his childhood drawing; selling his masterpiece at a whopping price of 140 million rubles, which is equivalent to $2.3 million.
In an interview with 360TV, Mkrtchyan said, “When I painted this picture, I was small, it was Soviet time. In my works I reflected the reality that came to us from TV screens, from books. I was interested in the theme of the civil war in that period.”
He shared that he was sorting through his old things when he suddenly saw his masterpiece, then thought of selling it for a price that is just enough for a work where one poured his heart into. He expressed, “I put all my soul and all my childhood delight into it.”
“The price is really amazing, extremely low for such an artwork,” he said. “The price tag just represents the money I need right now.”
He maintained that the painting — titled “Red Army man on a horse” — is worth the price.
“Even to me, the person who painted it, the horse’s expression is really impressive. It’s like it is looking straight into your soul,” he said. “As you know, the artist’s hand is guided by God, which means He liked it so much.”
Moreover, in the description of his ad, he noted, “Sure, it costs more. I give it at a bargain price because of the need to radically change my life. This picture will bring harmony and love to your home.”
