- A proposal at KFC drew attention on social media in November last year
- An overwhelming number of suppliers volunteered to make their dream wedding happen
- Finally, they were married on the last day of 2019
Barely two months after the proposal of the year 2019 that shook the internet and the whole world, the KFC couple finally wed on December 31 in an unknown location in South Africa attended by only their family and close friends.

Twitter was flooded with photos of the most anticipated 2019 year-ender wedding.
Seeing the updates, Nonhlanhla first appeared in a white ball gown with a v-shaped neckline while Hector is in a black and creamy beige tuxedo in their church ceremony. At the reception, the two had an outfit change. The bride wore a backless ball gown in a plunging neckline while the groom looked great in his black tuxedo.
Famous South African performers like Donald Moatshe, Mafikizolo and Jaziel Brothers serenaded the couple and entertained their guests.
After the wedding, the couple headed to New York to have their dream honeymoon; all expenses taken cared of by KFC South Africa.
“Nonhlanhla has always dreamed of seeing the Statue of Liberty and she will get to do just that SA!! KFC will be sending our beautiful couple on an all-expenses-paid dream honeymoon to the USA, with a few extras,” the fast-food outlet announced on Twitter.

In November last year, the couple was dining at KFC when Hector pulled off an unexpected proposal. One spectator was passing by when he filmed that special moment and posted it on social media.
Initially, somebody mocked them for having a “cheap” proposal in a fast food outlet. But that only made the couple popular and gained compassion from netizens. Pledges poured right after across South Africa; uniting the country as one.
The couple was already married in 2012 but Hector thought of giving a nicer ring for his wife and thus the proposal came about.
Congratulations again to both of you!
