Another Filipina is finishing school with flying colors in a foreign land as 21-year-old Lara Montales graduates summa cum laude from the prestigious Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, major in Finance and Business Analytics.
As a child, Lara is no stranger to graduating on top of her class. She finished elementary at Colegio de San Agustin-Makati as valedictorian and received high honors during her high school graduation at the Philippine Science High School before she entered Wharton in 2014.
Apart from finishing her class with honors, the proud Pinay has also participated and won in international math contests.
She will be taking a short vacation in the Philippines before she starts working in a consulting firm in Chicago.
Established in 1881 by the American entrepreneur and industrialist Joseph Wharton at the University of Pennsylvania, the Wharton School is the world’s first collegiate school of business, producing graduates who were envisioned to become the ‘pillars of the state, whether in private or in public life’.
Since then, the school has produced more than 96,000 alumni across 153 countries in Africa, Middle East, Asia, Europe, and North America.
