“When ML (Mobile Legends) is life na nauwi sa pagkastroke ko…”
Facebook user Mhary Mundoc Idanan who suffered from a stroke at the early age of 23 claims that the mobile game application, Mobile Legends, caused a major role in her condition.
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is one of the most popular mobile games in the Philippines. Mostly kids and young adults are the ones who get hooked on this multiplayer online battle.
Mhary claims that she usually spends most of her time playing Mobile Legends and sometimes sacrifices her sleeping time just to upgrade her character.
“Mag uumpisa ako [maglaro] 10pm minsan matatapos nako ng 6am,” she said.
She will not stop until her character gets ranked in the game.
“Kahit naluluha- luha na mata ko, ‘di pa rin po ako titigil hanggat ‘di ko po napaparank yung ml ko,” she added.
She warned people who are also hooked in playing video games or other mobile applications to be extra careful or else they might end up like her.
According to a study in University College London, people who spend 4 hours or more in front of the mobile phone or computer are about 50 percent more likely to suffer from a cardiovascular condition.
In our digital age, mobile phones play a major role in our lives; though it makes our life efficient, we should know that it should have limitations, too.
May Mhary’s lesson serve as a lesson to us to limit our screen time. We also pray for Mhary’s speed recovery.
