Child With Disability And No Wheelchair in Sultan Kudarat Finally Gets Help

Every election season, the inclusion of the rights of the People with Disability community has always been discussed. Politicians, as well as candidates, are making plans as well as promises of helping those who have disabilities.

Since most of our PWDs are challenged when it comes to working and earning for themselves and their families, they are often the ones who need help from the government. Recently, a child in Sultan Kudarat captured the attention of social media users since he is in dire need of a wheelchair. According to him, he’s been in this situation for as long as he can remember. Although he’s having a hard time, he doesn’t have any choice because he doesn’t have a wheelchair.

After watching and hearing about the story, the mayor of Sultan Kudarat decided to immediately help the child. He met up with him and promised him that he will bring a wheelchair. It turns out that two of his siblings also need help so the mayor brought two more wheelchairs.

Speaking in front of the camera, the mayor explained that he is doing it not for political reasons or since everything is caught on video but because he wants other people to be given another chance in life. According to him, people in Sultan Kudarat are always helping one other.

Mayor ka man o hindi mayor, karapatan ng ating kapatid na matulungan sila.

He also explained further that his day will not be complete without helping other people. Whether he is a politician or not, extending his hand to other people has always been close to his heart.

Other than the three wheelchairs for the family, the politician also prepared groceries for the whole family as well as a sack or rice. These goods may come a long way, especially since the barangay where the siblings are located is from the farthest one in Sultan Kudarat.
