After his much talked about billboard coffee date proposal to Erich Gonzales back in 2017, Xian Gaza is making headlines again — but this time, it is for a more serious reason.
Xian Gaza Surrenders
After receiving two warrants of arrest due to alleged investment scams, Gaza surrendered to the authorities today, April 12. The viral billboard suitor refused to appear before to the metropolitan trial court that is hearing the cases filed against him for allegedly breaking the country’s anti-bouncing checks law.
The charges were filled by Jaime Asuncion and Melinda Cruz who invested in a coffee shop that he was working on. To help finance the business, Cruz shelled out P2 million for the business after Gaza claimed that the supposedly original investor back out. However, it turned out that the original investor is Asuncion and he did not back out. Instead, he gave more than P1 million to finance the business.
Both investors claim that Gaza did not pay them back and stopped all forms of communication. He initially showed up before the court and promised to pay them back but it never happens.
No Money for Bail
After surrendering to the Malabon police, Gaza is now asking his friends to pitch in for his bail amounting to P160,000. While behind bars, he admitted that he has done wrong and all he wants is to change once he’s released.
I became a scammer. I became a fraud.
He ended his appeal to his friends and followers with his trademark “nyeam.”
Netizens have mixed reactions regarding the incident. Some are happy that he still remains optimistic despite the situation he is currently facing while there are others who are not convinced by his statement that he is currently broke. Some suggested for him to sell his luxury bags, which he frequently posts on his social media pages.
