Sometimes, you may think that it is just a pimple or simple skin condition but if you are not careful, it might turn into something worse. It may start like a simple itch but as the days pass by, the spot may develop into something of severe complications.
From Small Spot to Bigger Problem
This is what a woman named Mikaella Pablo experienced and shared to warn other netizens. At first, she saw a red spot on her belly but brushed it off, thinking that it is just a spot that can easily go away. However, the itchy patch started to develop and the itch gets worse.
Mikaella’s sister, who is working as a nurse, recommended that she put Bactroban on her skin. However, the spot remained on her skin. To check what complications she is suffering from, she decided to go to a dermatologist.
After going to the skin doctor, she was surprised to know that she is suffering from a severe skin condition: the Pityriasis Rosea. The spot that causes the skin disease is called as Herald Patch.
What Causes Pityriasis Rosea?
The real reason for Pityriasis Rosea is indistinct. Some studies show that the rash might be activated by a viral infection, particularly from the herpes virus, although it is not connected with the herpes strain.
Pityriasis Rosea is also not infectious. It often endures for one to three months and for the most part, it may never return. If you are suffering from the rash or itching keeps going longer for more than three months, specialists recommend using Benadryl, a topical cream that soothes the itching.
Mikaella’s post aims to raise awareness to people to always take good of your skin. As the saying goes, if symptoms persist, consult your doctor.
