Filipinos are known all over the world because of their talents. From KZ Tandingan’s much talked about performance in Singer 2018 to last year’s X Factor UK bet Alisah Bonaobra, Filipinos are surely one of the contestants that anyone would not want to face in a singing contest.
Another Talented Filipino
Recently, another Filipino is raising the bar when it comes to their singing. A 13-year old Filipino based in Dublin received a standing ovation from all four judges of Ireland’s Got Talent. This earned her a ticket into the next round of the famous talent search.
During her introduction to the judges, teenager Shaniah Rollo said that her family just recently moved to Ireland from the home country. However, the family is still not complete as some of her siblings are still in the Philippines.
When asked by judge Denise Van Often what she wants to do with the prize money of €50,000 (around P3.2 million) if she will win the competition, Rollo said that she will use the money to get her siblings from the Philippines to Ireland.
I want to use the money for my brothers and sisters to go here, so we can be a whole family because I really miss them so much.
Instantly Wowed the Judges
Just by hitting her first notes of her own rendition of “True Colors,” the judges already appeared impressed. They exchanged looks and had their mouths opened at one point. Van Outen was impressed.
You’ve got the most amazing voice. You sang that from your heart, and you sang that for your siblings. They will be so proud of you.
One of the judges, Michelle Visage was also surprised upon knowing that she did not have any formal training at all.

How far will Shaniah make? After qualifying, she will go into the semifinals of the show. Knowing how talented Filipinos are, she is one of the strongest contenders of the show.
