Kapamilya star Enchong Dee admitted being not ready to be in a romantic relationship. He claimed to be happy even if he is single and emphasized that happiness should not depend on having a significant other.
In “Magandang Buhay’s” episode on Thursday, Enchong shared that he chooses to focus on himself and his career instead of looking for a partner. He then explained why he opted to stay single which he based on the story of his close friends.
“I have two close friends of mine na pinag-uusapan namin ‘yan. They’re both in a relationship but they’re not ready to settle down and they’re practically my age. So sabi ko what are you doing? Kung nandito na kayo sa edad natin and you are not ready, you are not seeing your girlfriend as your future wife, then what are you doing to each other, di ba? So ‘yun naman ang point ko na I’d rather focus on myself, I’d rather focus on my single life than have a relationship and not seeing that person as someone that you would be forever with.”
Enchong further explained that he is contented and thought that it’s the most important thing as of now.
Going back, it was during ABS-CBN’s Star Magic Ball on September 6, 2014, when Enchong admitted being in a relationship with model Samantha Lewis. After almost 2 years, in a separate interview with Boy Abunda in his late night talk show “Tonight with Boy Abunda”, Enchong confirmed that he and Samantha had separated ways.
However, the two maintained their friendship after their break-up and Enchong assured Samantha that he will always be there whenever she needs him.
Meanwhile, Enchong is currently busy with upcoming teleserye “The Blood Sisters” top-billed by Erich Gonzales in three characters: Agatha, Erika, and Carrie. The show will be aired starting February 12 before “TV Patrol”.
