“Wildflower” star Maja Salvador is among those celebrities who opted to celebrate Christmas outside the country. On Instagram, she shared photos with her family as they happily celebrated Christmas at Fort McMurray in Alberta, Canada where her mother currently stays after marrying Roy Linklater who is based in the country.
Maja’s trip to Canada was a planned vacation which she previously shared in a separate interview with ABS-CBN News. Maja said that she looks forward to spending time with her mother this Christmas season and craved for her favorite “sopas” which her mother usually cooks.
Meanwhile, contrary to Maja’s role as the revengeful “Lily Cruz” in “Wildflower”, her heart is close to the abused and abandoned children. In fact, she had been allotting time for the children during important occasions when she first met them 7 years ago.
Before leaving for Canada, she reached out to the children of Ephesus Home for Girls in Bulacan to share her blessings. Aside from finding joy in helping them, Maja claimed the children were also a source of her strength and inspiration because she can relate to their situation.
“Na-experience ko ‘yung hindi kumpleto ‘yung pamilya, kung puwede mo lang i-share lahat ng blessings na mayro’n ka.”
On the other hand, many children had idolized Maja and expressed their desire to become a celebrity and a performer like her. Happy by the way the children appreciated what she does, Maja also explained to them the importance of education.
Maja claimed that above anything else, being with her family was the best thing she experienced this Christmas.
“To be with my family, ‘yun lang talaga, simple lang. Saka ‘yung luto ng mommy ko. Gusto ko ng sopas, ‘yun ang hinihingi kong lutuin niya.”
