A lot of netizens might not like Kris Aquino but many are defending her son Bimby after the 10-year-old boy was called ‘baklain’ by no less than veteran broadcaster and TV host Jay Sonza.
On her social media pages, Kris posted a photo of Bimby confined at the hospital. She revealed that the young boy met an accident at the pool but she felt much relieved that he was fine now and only had some soft-tissue contusions.
As expected, a number of news outlets picked up the news but this irked a lot of people, including Jay.
On his Facebook rant, Jay wrote:
What, when, where, why and how?
Many netizens felt that this was below the belt, especially because Bimby is still a 10-year-old boy. They believe that Jay could have bashed Kris and the news outlets if he wanted but should have left the boy and his alleged sexuality out of the post.
Others also pointed out that the boy had met an accident at the pool – any mom would have been worried about what might happen to her son; thus, Kris had every right to post about it on social media.
There were those who said that Jay should not be mocking a young kid’s sexuality because it had nothing to do with the issue at hand.
Others laughed along with Jay, saying it was wrong of him to call the boy baklain because the boy wasn’t just baklain but a real bakla — and these ‘supportive’ comments also gained much flak from netizens.
In response, Kris wrote:
I strive to earn an honest living, pay my 35% in income tax as a responsible citizen, share my blessings by opening more food outlets that will provide more jobs, continue supporting feeding & outreach programs under the missions of my Catholic Faith, and above all else be the best mother i can be.
My Mom didn’t raise me to just be a survivor, she raised me to be a deserving winner. Kick me down, and time has taught me- someone in heaven just makes sure to strengthen my wings. Positivity wins.
Amid the backlash he received, Jay defended himself for the ‘wrong choice of words’. According to Jay, he didn’t mean that Bimby was gay in his post but ‘baklain’ was merely a term he used to mean that the kid was clumsy.
What do you think?
