Ica Policarpio, the 17-year-old who went missing last Thursday after she was last seen at a coffee shop in a mall on East Service Road in Sucat, Muntinlupa, has been found in Laguna.
Based on CCTV records, Ica went out of Coffee Project Lakefront Sucat to supposedly have her Php1,000 bill changed to smaller bills. She walked a few meters in a dark street leading to a nearby convenience store and was seen getting out of that establishment before disappearing.
Because she left her gadgets at the coffee shop and her family had described her a smart, sensible girl, everyone worried that she was kidnapped. This sparked a frenzy of social media posts from family and friends which went viral, with thousands of people offering to help find the teen or at least share the photos on social media in hopes that someone would recognize her.
Earlier today, there had been reports from ‘sources’ on various media sites that the teen has been found alive. A couple of hours later, Ica’s sister Bea Policarpio confirmed the reports and posted a photo of them together as proof that the teen has finally been found, alive and well.
It turned out the teen was found by San Pablo City police who were doing their rounds in the city, confirmed Southern Police District Director Chief Supt. Tomas Apolinario. The cops have yet to release a formal statement on the matter but everyone is thankful that the teen is doing fine.
Bea thanked everyone for praying and helping find her sister, stating the cops are now investigating the case. She asks the public to respect their family’s privacy at this time but promised provide an update via official media sites as to what really happened when the right time comes.
She assured everyone that her sister is safe, telling them to no longer worry about Ica. Whew!
We found Ica 😭
Words cannot express our joy in this moment. Our family can never thank you enough, each and every one of you, for storming the heavens so we could be given a second chance to be complete. Investigation is still ongoing, but be assured we will be verifying relevant facts via official media sites. Kindly wait for that and respect our family’s privacy at this time. In the meantime we just wanted to ease everyone’s worry and let you all know that she is okay, she is unharmed, and she is with us. Thank you Lord. Thank you everyone for helping us #FindIca. ❤️
