On November 13, Pro-Duterte blogger Sass Sasot was seen confronting BBC Southeast Asian’s correspondent, Jonathan Head at International Media Center in Pasay City while local and international reporters gather to cover the ASEAN Summit.
The news spread on social media and instantly gained varied reactions from netizens.
During the confrontation, Presidential Communications Office Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson was seen beside Sasot.
Apparently, Sasot questioned Head how “minor blogger” Jover Laurio was able to get access to international media like BBC.
“The immediate issue here that should be answered, which powerful group gave Jover Laurio of Pinoy Ako Blog access to BBC.”
Both Sasot and Uson are identified as Pro-Dutertans.
On the other hand, using her Twitter account, Laurio posted that no powerful group had given her access to BBC.
According to her, they were only able to exchange simple messages.
“This is how BBC contacted me. First tweet muna, then DM. No big groups behind the interview.”

Meanwhile, some celebrities were unable to ‘hold their horses’ and aired their reactions.
Actress-singer Agot Isidro posted on her Twitter account:
“Sweetie, last year BBC tried to get in touch with me for an interview, too. If they want to talk to you, they will find you. Do the math.”
Talent manager and comedian Ogie Diaz also commented on Sasot’s behavior saying her action only created a negative impact as she was identified as a Pro-Duterte blogger.
“Di alam ni Sassot, di nila natutulungan ang Pangulo sa maling paraan nila ng pagtatanggol kay PRD. #WagKangSiga”
