Thinking about Their Own Dads, Two Guys Help a Poor Job-Hunting Father Stuck at BGC with No Money

Two friends hanging out at Bonifacio Global City (BGC) in Metro Manila, Philippines were approached by a man who was stuck there with no money to get back home. Because he reminded them of their own dads who work hard to earn a living for the family, the two millennials treated this man for dinner and gave him fare back home.

Their kind gesture earned them praise on the internet, with many people also giving two thumbs up to this dad who is doing his best to provide for his children, even if he’s failing at it right now.

In a post that has gained thousands of likes on Facebook, especially after it was picked up and reposted by popular Facebook pages, netizens Stephen Abig shared how he and his pal Joshua Iverson Planilla were waiting for the rain to stop so they can get home after hanging out at Starbucks BGC when a man approached them, asking for Php10 ($0.20) for fare to get back home to Bicutan.

There was something about this older man that reminded them of their respective fathers. It touched their hearts to see this man begging for money so he could go home. Seeing that the man looked hungry, they offered him a meal.

After dining, they learned that the guy has been going to BGC every day to look for a job as steel man but hasn’t found his luck yet – and his money has already run out.
