OFWs Get Tulfo’s Assistance, Claim Refund in One Day Instead of 5 Months

OFWs had sacrificed enough just by being away from their families to earn a living in another country to provide a better future for their loved ones.  Despite the sacrifices that they have to go through, they still manage to have diligence in their work as they look forward to that day when they can go back to where their hearts belong… their families.

Six OFWs who went home to the Philippines had just finished their contracts with Fil SMS Corporation as fishermen in another country.

While going home made these men excited, they didn’t know that they were bound to face another difficulty.  The OFWs discovered that their SSS and Philhealth contributions were not completely remitted by their agency and should correspond to the total amount deducted from their individual compensation.

Upon learning about the discrepancy on their government contributions, they demanded a refund from their agency, Fil SMS Corporation.   Their request was granted however, the refunds were in a form of  post-dated cheques which they can only encash after 5 months.

Dismayed with the long time that they have to wait to have their hard-earned money back, they decided to seek assistance from Mr. Raffy Tulfo’s teleradyo program, “Raffy Tulfo in Action.” John Sanchez and 5 others headed to the program and laid down their complaint.

Raffy Tulfo interviewed the OFWs and upon hearing their story, he called the agency and was able to speak with its assistant treasurer, Allan Paclarin.  He then immediately arranged replacement of the previously issued cheques and advised the men to go to their office, the following day.

 

As this perhaps was the best news these men had ever heard that time, their next concern was where to spend the night and have dinner because they were all suffering from  ‘bleeding pockets’ that time.  They were just all expecting to have money coming from their refunds.

Good thing, Raffy Tulfo through his program shouldered their expenses for an overnight stay in a hotel with free meals, too!  The next day, they were also accompanied by the program’s staff to go to their agency.

Surprisingly, the 5-month PDCs were replaced with dated cheques which the six men were able to encash right away on the same day.  It was really a very happy moment for them as they can already go home to their respective families bringing their hard-earned money.

The OFWs thanked Raffy Tulfo and his show for the assistance extended to them.

These men were so lucky to have been assisted by Tulfo.  Their long wait was over as they had their money back not in 5 months, but in a single day!
