During the hype of this controversy, some of the netizens flocked over to Ciara Sotto’s Instagram account and began filling her account with comments about her father’s statement.
On Thursday, May 4, 2017, Danica Sotto-Pingris, cousin of Ciara Sotto, posted on her Instagram account saying: “Please, ‘wag kayo dito mag comment. Respect her account. May mga nasaktan man, pero unfair na idamay niyo siya pati ang pamangkin ko. Sorry if may mga na-hurt, but please let her enjoy her vacation. Respect on gusto niyo Diba po? Please also show her some respect. Walang sino man ang perfect sa atin. Please don’t make this issue bigger by giving unnecessary comments.”

Ciara Sotto is the youngest of Tito Sotto and Hellen Gamboa. She apparently became a single mother after her break up with her former husband Jojo Oconer who allegedly cheated on her. They have a son, Crixus, who is now 2 years old.
