Dasmariñas, Cavite – Richelle Yambao Cudiamat posted on Facebook how she was scammed and robbed by a person she chatted with on Facebook.
On March 5, 2017 at around 11 AM, a Samonte Nhics Andrea (Nicole) messaged her on Facebook offering her a job as a PR (Public Relations) with a salary of 7 thousand and 500 pesos food allowance, the job will only last for only 3 hours. Knowing how hard it is to be a single mother, she immediately accepted the offer.

On March 6, 2017, Richelle met her handler at the 2nd floor in front of H&M in SM Dasmariñas. The handler immediately explained what she needed to do and later on, asked her to surrender her belongings because it was a part of the policy she was even asked to remove her cellphone number because his phone was acting up and he will use Richelle’s phone in the meantime.
Afterwards, he instructed her to ride a jeepney and go to a place called “Majenta” wherein Nicole was waiting for her to give her allowance.
When she reached Majenta, she was asked by a man “Ma’am, okay lang ba garage na lang available namin, 500 3 hours?” She then noticed that she was in front of a Motel. She immediately got off the car to find where Nicole is; she mistakened a woman sitting to be Nicole, she then realized that Nicole is not yet there.
So she asked the tricycle driver to drive her back to SM Dasmariñas, she didn’t have any money to pay for the driver so she asked the driver to wait because she will go back where she left her handler — only to find out that he’s not there anymore.
With no money, she doesn’t know what to do. She immediately went to the guards in charge to ask for help to review the CCTV footage in the area where they met. The guards kindly assisted her to the Officer in Charge wherein they got her statement.
They were very nice to let her access for a computer so she can contact Nicole and her family and people near her. She asked for the number of the manager; she was given a certain number that was incorrect and Nicole blocked her immediately.
She was lucky enough that someone very close to her lent her 500 to go home.
“DIYOS ANG BAHALA SA INYO. Digital ang karma KAYA GOODLUCK SA FUTURE NIYO!!!” ended her post on her Dacebook account.
Let’s be mindful not to trust someone easily especially when you just met them online.
