“The Voice” is an American reality television singing competition broadcast on NBC that has a unique format compared with other talent shows in that the judges/coaches have their backs to the singers who try to impress them into turning around. This makes sure that the ones who make it to the show are truly those who deserve to be there because of their voice, not because of their overall appearance as performer.

On its premiere episode, a Fil-Am lass wowed all four coaches, making them turn around to her vibrant performance.

On its second week of blind auditions, another Pinay impresses the judges. While Gaby Borromeo did not get a four-chair turn, she did impress veteran judges Blake Shelton and Adam Levine who have been on the show since Season 1; the show is now on its Season 12.

Gaby sang a soulful rendition of “Happy” by Leona Lewis. Both coaches tried their best to entice her to their teams; although Adam had the upper hand in that he hugged her right after she finished singing and he was able to get her trust when they talked about their mutual experiences with production deals.

So, it wasn’t really surprising when Gaby chose Adam as her coach even if Blake also gave a strong pitch. Even coaches Alicia Keys and Gwen Stefani were all praises for the beautiful lass; although they did not turn their chairs for her.

Good luck, Gaby Borromeo! We hope to see you in the finals!
