When Jollibee released its new ad, “The Vow”, not only did people cry and reminisce about their past relationships, it also propelled the “best friend” guy to fame. His name is Mark Joseph Tam.
He sparked several memes, with many people offering him some advice on how he should have asked his best friend out so they would end up being the ones getting married. Others also offered themselves as ‘worthy replacement’ for this guy’s best friend.
But does he really need advice and a new love now that his best friend has gotten married?
Well, the guy in the Jollibee ad might but the actor behind the ad doesn’t – because Tam is married to his best friend in real life!
In an interview which will be aired this Sunday on “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho”, Tam is set to talk more about his newfound fame and the love of his life who happens to be his best friend.
Tam revealed, “Mayroon na akong asawa at anak. Nagulat sila. Mixed emotions—ngayon lang nangyari sa amin ito.” (I already have a wife and kids. They were surprised. Mixed emotions – this is the first time this has ever happened to us.)
Well, I bet more hearts were broken after hearing Tam’s revelations – but what advice can he offer to those who are still looking for love after not finding it with their best friend?
He said, “Kung sinoman ang darating sa inyo, mas hihigitan pa niya ang pagmamahal na inalaya niyo sa mga best friend niyo.” (Whoever is the one meant for you, he/she will give you more love than you freely offered to your best friend.)
