51-Year-old Filipina Wins as Mrs. Grandma Universe 2017

While the Philippines is still saddened by the loss of Maxine Medina in the Miss Universe 2016 pageant, good news has arrived in the form of another Pinay’s win at the Mrs. Grandma Universe 2017 pageant which was actually held in Sofia, Bulgaria last January 22, 2017 (Philippine time).

The news came a little late to the Philippines but it surely boosted the spirits of those who were somewhat disappointed that Maxine only made it to the Top 6 – of course, many of us were still proud that she made it that far!

According to ABS-CBN News, 51-year-old Agnes Jakosalem won the Mrs. Grandma Universe 2017 crown. She has three children and one grandchild.

As opposed to Miss Universe where the candidates are supposed to be single, Mrs. Grandma Universe is especially designed to grandmothers (they must have at least one grandkid).

Jakosalem is the first Filipino to win Mrs. Grandma Universe, a still relatively new pageant whose first winner was Mrs. Grandma Universe 2012 Ivana Hamra of Sweden.

Congratulations, grandma Agnes Jakosalem! You’re definitely the most beautiful grandma in the universe…
