Filipinos Can Now Take an International Cruise from Manila… And It’s Visa-Free!

Here’s good news for Filipinos who want to travel and enjoy a cruise with their loved ones and friends. Manila is now the home port of Superstar Virgo of the Star Cruises! Not only does this bring more jobs to Filipino workers but also allows everyone a chance to enjoy an international cruise right from Philippine soil – and it’s even going to be visa free!

Star Cruises president Ang Moo Lim revealed, “It’s the first time that Filipinos can cruise literally from your doorstep. Hassle-free, visa-free, and almost no limitation on baggage allowance.

He added, “Star Cruises was the first major cruise line to recruit Filipinos 23 years ago for our cruise ship, and now we are pleased to be the first international cruise line to make Manila our home port.

In line with this, Star Cruises launched its “Jewels of the South China Sea” cruise – and the maiden voyage will be on March 19. The last trip for this series will be on May 23.

The Jewels of the South China Sea cruise are set for six days and five nights, with the voyage departing from Manila on the scheduled date and cruising towards Laoag in Ilocos Norte, its first stop. There, tourists can enjoy the beaches of Pagudpud or explore the city’s Spanish colonial buildings and grand Baroque churches.

Afterwards, the cruise ship will head towards Kaohsiung in Taiwan. What’s quite amazing is that special concessions were already made between Star Cruises and Taiwan so that Filipinos would not need a Taiwanese visa to set foot on Taiwan soil from the cruise ship!

Tourists get to explore the exciting destinations in Taiwan and check out the historical landmarks before the cruise ships heads to Hong Kong. There, tourists can have a great time shopping all they want and explore the place before the cruise ship heads for home on a one-day voyage.

Prices for the cruise are reasonable – and they already come with meals from Genting Palace, The Pavillion Room, and the Mediterranean Buffet throughout the trip, from breakfast to dinner.

Star Cruises is also offering special discounts on the cruise’s first month. Executive suites are discounted at US$1,230 per person while twin sharing rooms are offered at US$490 per person. But traveling is more fun with friends; thus, Star Cruises offers special rates for quad sharing rooms which are available at US$245 per person, 50% off the price!
