MANILA, Philippines – Now this is one admirable boss.

Evolve MMA founder and owner Chatri Sityodtong played Santa Claus to 100 of his employees after he treated them to an all-expenses paid vacation in five-star hotel in the Maldives.’

Sityodtong reportedly spent a whopping $500,000 (almost P25 million) for the Singapore-based mixed martial arts company’s annual retreat which he said has been part of their culture.

According to Sityodtong, he has treated his employees to free out-of-the-country vacations for the past four years; having taken them to five-star resorts in Indonesia’s Bali and Bintan Island and Thailand’s Krabi and Khao Lak.

For the CEO, the vacations are his way of rewarding his employees for their hard work and keeping their morale high.

“Many of my staff would love to travel the world, but do not have the means to do so. The vast majority of my team at Evolve come from humble backgrounds of poverty, tragedy, or adversity. For them, Evolve is the greatest opportunity to escape poverty and to achieve the life of their dreams,” he told AsiaOne. “The best deserve the best. It is only fair. We do our best to hire the best people in the world, giving out only one job offer for every 200 applicants. So they should be compensated as such. We work hard, and we play hard.”

Sityodtong was also coy on his company’s next planned surprised destination for his employees.

“The world is a big place! I don’t know where our annual retreat will be held next year, but I hope to take them to another spectacular place,” he said.
