He’s not just good-looking, 9-year-old Jiro Pagalunan is also a diligent and hardworking boy who has earned praise on social media for his noble desire to help his family in Iriga City, Camarines Sur. He went viral on Facebook after someone spotted him selling kakanin at the sidewalk.
The handsome young lad sells kakanin after school hours to help his family earn money for a living. According to ABS-CBN News, he has been selling kakanin for three years now! Doing the math, that means he’s been doing this since he was 6 years old!

While that is quite dangerous, of course, as kids tend to play and have a short attention span, Jiro’s training is bound to help him become a diligent and hardworking adult in the future. We just hope that he will continue going to school so he can have a future much better than just selling kakanin in the streets for his entire life.
His charm works on customers.
“Masyado siyang malambing sa mga customer niya. Kaya mabili po yung product naming na puto. Masyado siyang magaling sa pakikipag-usap,” his dad Joel said.
(He is sweet to customers. That is why many buy rice cakes from him. He knows how to talk to customers.)
His mother is also all praises for the young boy. She said, “Mabait po siya. Matulungin tapos marunong na po siyang tumulong sa gawain sa bahay, mangahoy, manguha ng panggatong, mamulot ng pili, tapos nagtitinda po siya. Gusto niyang maka-experience po habang bata pa siya.”
(He is a good kid. He helps in household chores such as gathering firewood, picking pili nuts and selling food on the streets. He wants to experience these while he is young.)”
What can you say about kids helping their parents earn money at a young age?
