Parking Boy Earns Praise for Keeping Safe an iPhone Left in Motorcycle, Returning it to Rightful Owner

We’ve all had those moments when we forget where we put stuff but losing important and expensive things like iPhones can truly be distressing, especially because there are lots of thieves who are just looking for an opportunity to get those items.

In Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental in central Philippines, social media user Nalz Futalan Rubio left her iPhone 5s in her scooter parked near Quezon Park.

She knew that there are a lot of people who wouldn’t return a phone they found, especially an iPhone even if it isn’t the latest model. So, when she returned to her scooter some minutes later, she was distraught to discover that the phone was, indeed, gone. She knew it was lost forever – but she was wrong.

As she walked away from her scooter to get back to where she was originally headed to near the park, she was hurriedly called by a guy who turned out to be parking boy, Randy Omiping.

According to Omiping, he took the phone upon noticing that it was left in the scooter – but only for safekeeping! He knows too well that many people would have gotten the phone and kept it.

Thankful that she got the phone back, Rubio shares the experience on Facebook where Omiping earned praise from netizens for his honest deed – after all, he could have kept the phone for himself and sell it at the black market and get more money yet he chose to be honest, instead.

Kudos to you, Kuya Randy Omiping!
