Despite the Presidential Communications Office’s (PCO) claim that the palace didn’t know about the burial schedule of the late President Ferdinand Marcos, eagle-eyed netizens couldn’t help but point out that flowers from Pres. Rodrigo Duterte could be seen during the interment rites…

When news of Marcos burial broke out, netizens are torn whether they should believe the PCO’s statement; after all, Duterte supports the burial so there really was no reason to keep it a secret from him, right?
Moreover, Duterte did give the go signal for the family to bury Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani after the Supreme Court issued a ruling that doing so is not against the law.
Well, according to Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Ronald dela Rosa, Duterte knew about it. But why did the PCO not know about it if the president knew? Well, the answer probably lies in the confidentiality of the matter.
Preparations for the actual burial started late Thursday afternoon, revealed the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) but they were instructed to keep the matter strictly private and confidential.
It was, therefore, highly likely that only a few people actually knew what was happening; thus, the PCO was not informed though it was possible that Communications Secretary Martin Andanar was in the know but did not disclose it to the team.
Can you spot the flowers in this video?
