First Batch of ‘Yolanda’ Victims Move to New Homes with Help from Army and the Government

The long wait is finally over! After 3 years of living in temporary shelters in Barangay 88, Tacloban City, the victims of Supertyphoon Yolanda are finally relocating to their new homes in North Hill Arbours! This came exactly 20 days after Pres. Rodrigo Duterte issued a directive for the houses to be completed and released to the typhoon survivors by December.

Of course, these homes were funded and built under the previous administration – and the Duterte government is not claiming that; however, because of red tape and various challenges, the homes were not released to the intended recipients.

Thanks to the directive, red tape was removed. Keys to their new homes were distributed to the intended recipients.
