A young lad has earned the admiration of thousands of netizens after he was photographed diligently making his assignments while also selling sampaguita at a footbridge in front of SM North EDSA last November 18, 2016.
According to a post on Proud Pinoy from photos shared by Lito Ocampo, the boy is a Grade 5 student San Antonio Elementary School in Muñoz, Quezon City. His name is Mar.
It is great that this boy knows his priorities – and makes his assignments despite the conditions not being perfect for him to do those. The light is not so bright and he probably struggled while writing on his lap instead of on a flat-level table yet he managed to cope with that he had.
Of course, this also shows the grim side of poverty where young kids like him have to struggle in their studies to help their parents earn money but it is wonderful that he finds a way to make the most of his sad situation.
