In Daanbantayan, northern Cebu, a number of ‘Yolanda’ victims had moved to relocation homes in the past years but a huge village comprising 650 housing units has not been completed due to a number of issues.
The Office of the Presidential Assistant for the Visayas (OPAV) visited the housing site and received good news from the contractor who promised to complete and release at least 36 homes by December before proceeding to complete the rest of the village by next year!
Of course, this would mean that the OPAV won’t be able to meet Pres. Rodrigo Duterte’s directive to have all the houses completed and distributed before the year ends. Still, having the contractor promise that work will be finished soon is already good news to the families who had long been waiting for their new homes outside the danger zones.
