VP Robredo Visits Areas Hit by ‘Lawin’, Promises Residents that Aid Will Arrive Soon

As of press time, aid has not arrived in a number of towns and cities hit by Supertyphoon Lawin, mostly because the roads leading to these areas had been cut off due to floods, landslides, and damaged bridges or roads.

But concerned government agencies, including the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) are doing their best to reach these areas to send assistance.

Vice President Leni Robredo visited a number of these areas to check on the condition of the people and promised the residents that aid will arrive soon. Robredo’s visit came ahead of the President Rodrigo Duterte’s own ocular inspection of the ‘Lawin’-hit areas as he was still on a state visit to China when the typhoon hit the affected areas.
