Becoming the first international beauty queen to win in the history of the pageant, Christine Joy Picardal won as Miss Diamond of the World 2016 in the recently concluded event held in Algeria. The pageant was launched back in 2015.
Candidates to the pageant included international beauty queens from Germany, Russia, and Romania but it was the Philippines’ representative Picardal who went home with the crown.
1st Runner up: Miss Romania
2nd Runner up: Miss Russia
“It is not really the crown that infatuates me now, it is the warmth and the love I’ve been receiving from my co-candidates,” Picardal wrote on her Facebook page as a reaction to winning in the pageant.
According to ABS-CBN News, Picardal is not new to the entertainment industry. She has appeared in several of the network’s shows, including weekend episodic fantaserye “Wansapanataym” and superhero series “Super D”.
