Palace Releases EO on ‘Ambisyon Natin 2040’, Supports NEDA Projections for Php120k/Month Income for Families

While his critics are saying that he does not have plans for the future of the country but only wants to focus on the drug problems, Pres. Rodrigo Duterte has once again proven them wrong by signing Executive Order 05 entitled, “Approving and Adopting the Twenty-Five-Year Long Term Vision Entitled ‘Ambisyon Natin 2040’ as Guide for Development Planning.”

Here’s the main aim of this EO: “By 2040, the Philippines shall be a prosperous, predominantly middle-class society where no one is poor; our peoples shall live long and healthy lives, be smart and innovative, and shall live in a high-trust society.

Under the 25-year plan, here are the overall long-term goals: The Philippine Government hereby aims to triple real per capita incomes and eradicate hunger and poverty by 2040, if not sooner. An appropriate set of milestones shall be identified to guide the successive medium-term development plans.

To achieve these goals, the EO also provides for the following:

Medium-Term Philippine Development Plans. The four (4) medium-term Philippine Development Plans, hereafter to be referred to as Philippine Development Plans (PDPs), to be crafted and implemented until 2040 shall be anchored on the Ambisyon Natin 2040 and overall goals. The PDPs shall ensure sustainability and consistency of strategies, policies, programs and projects across political administrations .

Consistent Government Plans. All plans of government departments, offices and instrumentalities, including government-owned or -controlled corporations and local government units, shall be consistent with Ambisyon Natin 2040.

So, what exactly can one expect in 2040? Will there be no more shanties like these in 2040?

A few months ago, netizens laughed at the idea, that a family of four needs Php120k per month to ‘live a comfortable life’, based on a NEDA study. After all, most Filipino families could barely earn Php120k a year!

But with the long-term plans released on the EO and the ultimate goal that “the Philippines shall be a prosperous, predominantly middle-class society where no one is poor” by 2040, the Php120k per month looks so much promising now…

Let’s work together so we can achieve that goal for the Philippines!
