PNP Chief Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, President of the Philippines in 2022?

Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Director General Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa is among the most influential figures on social media and in the news these days, perhaps second only to President Rodrigo Duterte – and many netizens are already thinking of urging him to run as president when Duterte’s term ends in 2022! What do you think?

During the House Appropriations Committee hearing on the Department of Interior and Local Government’s (DILG) budget proposal for 2017 where the police chief was in attendance due to the PNP being one of the agencies under the department, Chief dela Rosa was introduced as a “rock star” by Appropriations Committee Chair Karlo Nograles – although, of course, the police chief no longer needs introduction as every single person in the Philippines has surely heard of his name, what with him being in the news on a daily basis!

But the warm welcome for the police chief did not end there.

Misamis Occidental Representative Henry Oaminal not only praised the police chief for his performance as head of the police force, the congressman also joked that Chief dela Rosa would make a great successor when Pres. Duterte steps down in 2022!

Of course, such would be something netizens would have to work extra hard for, if they want to make Chief dela Rosa as president. After all, there are several people who just might become strong contenders for the position.
