He Could Barely Afford to Buy Lunch Everyday but this Guard wasn’t Tempted to Keep Php500K an OFW Dropped at NAIA Terminal

When Security Guard Danny Namion of Advance Forces Security found a bag containing Php500,000 ($10,800) that an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) had dropped at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1, he wasn’t in the least bit tempted to keep the money despite having financial troubles himself.

Indeed, Namion could barely afford to buy lunch every day and would often borrowing Php100 ($2) from his colleagues to make ends meet yet he was honest enough to return the money he found because it wasn’t his!

Considering that Php500,000 is a huge sum of money, especially for someone having financial troubles, this would have fed him and his family for months yet for Namion, his honor and integrity are far more important than money.

Besides, if someone found it he had kept the money, he could lose his job – his primary means of supporting his family! So, it still was a good thing that he returned the bag of money. And for his honest actions, Namion received close to P14,000 ($300) as reward from the OFW who was eternally grateful that the money was returned.

Good job, SG Danny Namion!
