Blessings are pouring in for the Philippines’ first Olympic Filipina medalist who is also the first Filipino to win an Olympic medal after a 20-year drought and the first Mindanaoan Olympic medalist. Hidilyn Diaz won the silver medal for Olympic weightlifting, women’s category.
The whole Philippines is celebrating Diaz’s win – but, of course, there is no one happier out there than Diaz herself. After her awesome win, she treated herself to adobo and pizza.
But while those were surely small treats, she’s set to receive so much more because not only did she receive an Olympic silver medal she can treasure for the rest of her life, she’s also set to receive so much more!
For Philippine Sports Commission chair Butch Ramirez revealed that Diaz will not just receive a P5 million incentive for bringing honor to the country, she will also receive a house and lot from realtor and developer Deca Homes!
Indeed, when it rains, it pours – and for Diaz, it is raining plenty of blessings right now.
We’re all hoping that the blessings Diaz is set to receive will also be something that the other members of the Philippine contingent can use as inspiration for also winning in their respective events…
Good luck, guys! And congratulations once again to Hidilyn Diaz! But win or lose, we are all so proud of you all.
