“Tuba” is a type of local wine made from coconuts – but did you know that this can also be used in painting? Well, I haven’t heard of this as a medium for painting before but artist Dante Enage has mastered the art of using tuba for his paintings – and the results are actually quite amazing.
Enage is one of the survivors of super typhoon Yolanda. Before the super typhoon had hit his hometown in Tacloban City, Leyte in Central Philippines, Enage had already been painting using tuba. He created portraits of international icons like pop icon John Lennon, Manny Pacquiao, and American rock star Jimi Hendrix. After the typhoon, Enage was thankful not just that he survived the horrific experience but also because most of his paintings were intact.
