Graduations are happy events: To celebrate this momentous day, parents are throwing away parties, thanking their children and letting everyone know that their children are finally graduating.
Unfortunately, there is a grieving mother in Pampanga now after her son, a student identified as Kenneth Masa Ramos, reportedly took his own life after he was prevented by his university from graduating, even if his name is included in the list of students who will graduate.
What’s the Reason?
According to the student’s mother, Yolanda Masa, her son succumbed to depression after he was allegedly prevented by the state university he was enrolled in to go up on stage for the graduation ceremony because of his incomplete grades.
The mother disclosed that his son drank poison, leading to his tragic demise. Although he was rushed to the hospital, he was immediately pronounced dead on arrival.
The grieving mother is an Overseas Filipino Worker. She went home from Saudi Arabia to witness her son graduate.
Kenneth’s sister also tearfully shared:
The mourning mother also expressed her own confusion, saying that the school initially included her son’s name on the list of graduating students.
Currently Under Investigation
The state university’s president, as well as the Commission on Higher Education in Region III, claimed that they are currently investigating the tragic incident.
