A lot of people believe that a Filipina would only marry a foreigner so she could live a more comfortable life that she is dreaming of. This is one of the negative stereotypes that we could hear not only from Filipinos but also people of different races. Some would think that people from other countries can offer the most luxurious lifestyle and give all the material things in the world to enjoy. It can be painful to hear, especially if you are in a relationship or married to a foreigner because of love.
A Filipina shares a unique yet inspiring story that would destroy this notion. In a viral Facebook post, Regina Hoover proudly shares how she and her American husband had to make all things meet so that her family could survive all their needs because her husband is not earning a lot, unlike what others are thinking.
The Filipina is brave to share that the life of a Filipina married to a foreigner is not all about money all the time. Even if there are many people who are still calling her a gold digger or she is marrying her husband because he is a walking dollar, this did not stop Regina from marrying the foreigner.
Not Giving Up
Regina’s post is very inspirational as she narrated what her family experienced. According to her, at the beginning of their wedding, she suffered from a miscarriage. She also had Polycystic Ovary Syndrome or PCOS which did not allow her to bear a child for some time. When they finally gave birth to their son, he has a different mental condition too.
Despite everything, the Hoover family still decided to live as a complete and normal family. They are always happy and contented with all they have.
