Domestic Helper’s Son Tops PNPA Class 2018, Reveals He Hasn’t Met His Father

A domestic helper has seen her hard work pay off after her son graduated as the class valedictorian of the PNPA class 2018, a very challenging feat considering the school (Philippine National Police Academy) is the training ground for future officers of the Philippine National Police, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology and the Bureau of Fire Protection.

Valedictorian Cadet First Class Fritz John Vallador led the 106 graduates of the PNPA Maragtas Class of 2018 (Mga Magigiting at Responsableng Alagad ng Batas na Gagabay tungo sa Transpormasyong Alay sa Bayan).

The cadet hails from Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental. His mother works as domestic helper in Spain; sadly, she can’t go home to witness his graduation but his aunt will be there for him.

I’m saddened na hindi makakarating ang aking ina, pero nagpaliwanag naman siya sa akin. Yung tita ko, na nagtayong nanay ko simula grade 5 ako, siya ang maghahalili muna,” Vallador revealed.

But his dad won’t also be there. In fact, Vallador admitted that he hasn’t met his father; however, he said it didn’t make much of a difference because he did have a father figure while growing up and was able to achieve his dreams despite his situation.

Meron naman pong tumayong bagong papa sa akin, kaya it’s just normal. Kahit na wala akong tatay, nandito ako sa harapan n’yo, nagsumikap at naabot ko ang tugatog ng tagumpay na ito,” the young cadet added.

He is set to receive the Presidential Kampilan Award and Plaque of Merit from President Rodrigo Duterte, reports ABS-CBN News.
