Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach felt overwhelmed upon learning that she served as an inspiration to 2017 Miss Universe Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters from South Africa. She expressed her support to Demi and looked forward to her arrival together with other Miss Universe candidates on their scheduled visit here in the Philippines.
Pia was happy when she learned about Demi’s post on her Twitter account where she wrote: “I adore all previous winners but I really fell in love with @PiaWurtzbach after she won and I loved her reign.”
Miss Universe 2017 and the rest of the candidates will be arriving in the Philippines. This will be Demi’s first trip after winning the crown. Pia will be joining them at a charity ball fashion show featuring the artistic and creative creations of Philippine designers. She said she’s so excited to meet all of them.
However, since Pia is busy promoting her movie, “Gandarrappido: The Revenger Squad” as Star Cinema and Viva Films’ official entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival on December 25 with Vice Ganda and Daniel Padilla on lead roles, she won’t be able to join them on all of their tours. This is aside from her guesting at “It’s Showtime” as a co-host.
Meanwhile, last Tuesday, some Miss Universe candidates had already arrived in the country. Spotted were Miss Canada Lauren Howe, Miss Great Britain Anna Burdzy, and Miss Singapore Manuela Bruntraeger.
On December 6, the candidates visited Intramuros and Luneta Park as part of the “Bring Home A Friend” tourism campaign of the Philippines.
Pia Wurtzbach was among the judges during the 2017 Miss Universe Pageant which happened at The AXIS in Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States last November 26, 2017.
