“The world gave them a thousand reasons to stop, but they focused on one good reason to continue.”
Carl Pascua, a pastor at ChosenGen, posted an article on Facebook about the love story of his two best friends, Aldrin Talplacido and Angel Garcia.
Carl described Aldrin and Angel’s as just like any relationship – having full of ‘fights’ and would make up only after a couple of days.
Despite ‘losing friends who lost hope in their relationship’, Aldrin and Angel managed to stay together and ‘mature’ into their relationship. It was “through their challenges that,” Carl said, “their understanding for each other became deeper and more meaningful.”
In March 2016, the couple attended the Color Cabanatuan Run. “While the guest artist was singing, the couple were called up onto the stage. Suddenly, Aldrin got down on one knee and after seven years of being together, Aldrin finally proposed to Angel—having, of course, said ‘yes!’
But when things just started to go right, the couple had been ‘fighting and crying’ more to the point of ‘giving up’.
Every conquered devastation brings restoration. It was almost ‘over’ but the couple chose to ‘start over’. Fear was there but love was greater.
The couple had set aside their problems one last time, before finally asking Carl if he could help plan their wedding.
Aldrin and Angel got married on November 12, 2016.
But the lovers would have to face the most challenging moment in their lives.
Just 8 days after the couples first wedding anniversary, Aldrin rushed Angel to the hospital on November 20, 2017 for having ‘pain in her chest’.
After hours of pumps and tubes, the doctor called Aldrin inside the ICU.
All Aldrin could hear then was the flat tone of the heart monitor. From that moment, he knew he lost her.
In November 26, 2017, Angelyn G. Talplacido was buried in Eternal Gardens, Cabanatuan. She was buried in her wedding dress so that Aldrin ‘could propose to her in heaven and have God as their minister’. Aldrin also held the baptism of their first born son, Alistair King, on the same day.
Last Tuesday, December 12, 2017, Aldrin posted on his Facebook account a message to his wife.
‘Sometimes you will never realize the true value of a moment until it becomes a memory’.
Mahal, you may not be here beside me but our love will stay in my heart forever. Our love makes me stronger everyday and it will just get better until everything makes sense in God’s perfect time. Our love story is written for God’s glory.
Sometimes you will never realize the true value of a moment until it becomes a memory. Mahal, you may not be here…
