Unknown to many, “It’s Showtime” host Anne Curtis-Heussaff has been helping charity institutions, public schools, and less-fortunate children through her foundation, the Dream Machine. Recently, she had donated Php7.47 million to UNICEF which they collected from “The Color Run Dream” project, with the intention to build more classrooms in public schools.
Among the public schools, General Roxas Elementary School in Roxas District, Quezon City had benefited from Anne’s Dream Machine.
The classrooms could easily be identified as they have a mural painting of “Anita”, the character and alter-ego made by the TV host-actress and the main character of the book which Anne had written for UNICEF with a title, “The Duckling Diva”.
Aside from General Roxas Elementary School, another recipient of Anne’s project is a school in Cavite.
Anne said she had thought of building more classrooms in public schools because she really believes in the importance of education.
“That’s one of my advocacies because I really believe in education for children.
“I have so much faith and belief in how important education really is for children and we have a lot more plans for Dream Machine.”
However, Anne was somehow surprised that the public was able to know the goodwill which she’s doing because as much as possible, she just wanted her charity works to remain private. But then, she happily shared that they will be coming up with more projects in 2018.
“Pero next year na ‘coz medyo naging hectic ang latter part of the year, but so many things will be happening next year.”
Aside from building a classroom, helping cancer-stricken children, and giving financial support to the youth through UNICEF, Anne has plans of conducting a mass wedding for less privileged unmarried couples to make their union legal. Anne claimed they intend to have that project by next year but they were already giving out application forms.
Meanwhile, Dream Machine has been receiving many letters from people who were asking for assistance from Anne. To make sure that her foundation is able to serve those who truly deserve their help, Anne together with her team have been screening applications and conducting background investigations.
Aside from the email messages which they continuously receive each day, some were sending their messages to Anne through her Twitter account. Some of them expressed being amazed at her kindness as they least expect that Anne would personally give attention to their requests.
