Bagging over 200 medals from academic awards and beauty competitions, it is easy to say that 16-year-old April Christelle T. De Leon of Lingayen, Pangasinan is the perfect example of ‘beauty and brains’.
She wrote on Facebook, sharing photos of her medals, “These memories will forever be treasured and will always be with me wherever I go. Goodbye Lingayen, Pangasinan.” It turned out that April and her family will be migrating to Chicago, Illinois and the teen won’t be able to bring these treasures with her.
The multi-awarded young student has represented her schools, Lingayen I Central School and Pangasinan National, in various competitions both locally and in national levels.
She was also the first in her class since Grade 1, graduating valedictorian in Grade 6. Then, she received the highest honors in junior high school, having been the only to achieve an average grade of over 98%.
The teen was also the editor-in-chief of the school papers in elementary and high school, president of the student government in elementary, and vice president for external affairs in high school. She was awarded as Most Outstanding Campus Journalist in the National Schools Press Conference and has received multiple awards in various quiz bowls, quiz bees, and other scholastic activities.
Yet April is not just a brainy girl, she’s also a regal beauty. She was awarded as Miss Earth, Miss United Nations, Miss A1, and Lakambini ng Wika in their school!
This girl is certainly awesome!
With her family migrating to the US, April will be completing her high school education in Chicago. She plans to pursue a BS Biology degree in preparation for Med School. We’re quite sure she’d ace all that!
