A cancer-stricken girl who felt that her time on Earth is almost up, planned her own funeral so she can “die beautiful”. And her story has touched the hearts of netizens, with many likening her story to the award-winning comedy-drama “Die Beautiful”, starring Paolo Ballesteros.
In October 2016, Rolyn Pregunta of Davao City in southern Philippines posted an announcement on Facebook, asking for help for her sister Racine Pregunta diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a rare form of cancer that starts with the bones.
This is to inform everyone my sister. Racine currently admitted in SPMC [Southern Philippines Medical Center]. Racine is battling Osteosarcoma. It’s a rare disease. Right now she badly needs B+ blood type to stabilize her hemoglobin. The soonest possible she will undergo surgery on her right knee. I am humbly asking for your support, if any of you can donate B+ blood type tomorrow we will greatly appreciate. And any amount donations coming from your heart will be appreciated..
We are in dire need of assistance. May God touch everyone’s heart. God bless!!!
For a long time, there were no updates from Rolyn about her sister’s condition but friends were soon shocked to learn of Racine’s death.
In a heartbreaking post last April 19, Rolyn shared the details of Racine’s death on the cancer-stricken girl’s Facebook page.
“Let me tell you how Racine prepared her departure,” the post began, before detailing how her 20-year-old sister arranged her own funeral so she can “die beautiful”, right before she died on April 17.
